Prisca Engeler Praxisräume in Frankfurt

My practice offers you a quiet and safe place directly in the center of Frankfurt.

In my practice for Coaching and Psychotherapy in Frankfurt, I help people who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

As an experienced trauma therapist and non-medical practitioner for psychotherapy, I support you in becoming emotionally stable and overcoming traumatic experiences.

When a trauma makes life painful

Perhaps you were a victim (or a witness) of physical, psychological or sexual violence (sexual abuse, rape). Neglection or the loss of a loved one can also be traumatizing.

If you have post-traumatic stress disorder, you may have nightmares and flashbacks. You feel tense, anxious, easily scared or suspicious. Often, traumatized people suffer from further mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, compulsions, eating disorder, addiction or dissociative amnesia.

You may have a negative self-image and low self-confidence as a result of the trauma. Or you find it difficult to deal with stressful situations, cope with everyday life, or trust people. It is time to feel better and I would be happy to help you overcome your trauma.

Gentle trauma therapy

I work with you gently and at your own pace. In doing so, I am appreciative and constructive. You will gain a sense of safety as we treat your trauma. You learn to deal better with disturbing feelings such as fear, sadness, anger or shame. Likewise, we look at how you can better cope with your current life and the people around you.

Effective methods

Traumas are particularly disturbing life experiences that require special methods. Just talking and understanding is not enough to treat a PTSD.

I have a toolbox of methods that I have been constantly enriching since 2007. During trauma therapy, I use the EMDR method (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is internationally recognized for its effectiveness. Working with the inner child can also be helpful.

Recovering from trauma at my own pace

After searching for a therapist in Frankfurt, I stumbled upon Mrs. Engeler’s practice. After a first appointment where she explained to me how she works and where I could tell her about my concerns, I decided to start the therapy with her. Deciding to begin a therapy is a difficult choice, but I am very happy with it now…

The pace of the sessions was decided together and always at my own pace. Over the course of the sessions, I was able to gradually free myself from certain family problems, especially from my mother’s hold on my life, and I was also able little by little to begin to let go of my extreme need to plan everything. I have been traumatized by the death of my father since I was a child and I have carried this burden, the pain of his death for many years without really being able to mourn it. Mrs. Engeler worked with me on this trauma by giving me time for each step.

She never rushed me or forced me to move on when I couldn’t. It was always at my pace. The therapy allowed me to free myself from this trauma little by little, gently. Throughout the sessions, I always felt listened and at no time was I judged. This environment of trust is really important for me.

We used several methods during the therapy, which Mrs. Engeler always explained to me first, and it was really nice to be able to decide for myself if these methods were right for me or not. To symbolize all the weights accumulated in my childhood, we used during the therapy “little bags” full of sand, which was for me a very enriching and especially very revealing experience. Writing down my goals or seemingly insignificant events and seeing them “taking shape” on paper may seem unimportant, but it was a great help for me.

She also helped me with my study methods, as well as with the conflicts I had at work. And all this work done together has really made me feel much better in my everyday life and my entourage notices it too. I am much more cheerful and I also notice that I have stopped having the negative vision that I had for so long that it seemed normal.

My therapy has helped me tremendously to move forward, and even if it is not finished yet, I know that I am very well supported, by someone who respects his patients and makes sure to find the best therapy and the best methods to work on oneself. A therapy has a lot of impact on everyday life, that’s why I think it’s important to be listened to and advised in the best possible way, and all this in mutual respect. I can only recommend Mrs. Engeler’s practice for that.

Looking at the positive side

Due to traumatic experiences from the past, I needed professional help. I felt like I was bursting with pent-up anger. Since I had already known Prisca Engeler for several years through various courses (NLP, systemic and family constellations, psycho-kinesiology), I turned to her with confidence. She is an expert in her field. Prisca Engeler asks where the shoe pinches and recognizes quite quickly which method can help…

I had arranged 5 sessions with her. Already after the first meeting, I got clarity about one topic. This was very important for me. At the following sessions, we wrote down, on the one hand, the points that were causing me problems, and on the other hand, the points that were doing me good and giving me joy. Prisca Engeler paid special attention to these topics. Especially by looking at the positive side, it was made clear to me what potential I have within me. I really became aware of where my path is leading me.

Since then, I have been putting all my energy into this project, which has enabled me to deal much better with the negative experiences and pent-up anger from the past. It is like a valve that has now opened. Even if I have to go through the old pain again, I then find relief.

Through the work with Prisca, many things became clearer and clearer to me. She has guided me in the right direction. I now have a goal that I want to achieve. This has also given me a whole new perspective in my life. I no longer focus on the past, I now concentrate much more on myself and what is good for me. I can highly recommend the absolutely trustful and professional cooperation with Prisca Engeler.
